Rising from the Fire Campaign

Levantandonos del Fuego

The fire in our sanctuary began sometime after 3am on Monday morning, May 14th. Robin Hess, our Maintenance Supervisor, came in to work earlier than usual that day to attend to some much needed cleaning. He discovered the fire and called 911. The Easter candle had been left burning near the Ambo (where the scriptures are read). As many can testify, it was often very hard to discern whether the candle was lit or not. A large hole where the Ambo used to be and the extensive smoke and water damage, left us in no doubt that renovation was needed and, quite frankly, much overdue. Dow Columbia was called in to do the restoration of the space to its original pre-fire façade and a Remodeling Committee and a Capital Campaign Committee have been formed and are working hard at producing a worship space that is highly functional, accessible to all, and pleasing to the eye.

Parishioners are asked to keep clear of the fire site for their own safety and to allow the workers to complete their work. Pictures of the damage to the church are currently on this website. Pictures of our remodeling efforts will be put up soon and will be continuously updated throughout the process.

Tony Rinella Hall has been converted into our Worship Space. Worship times have not been changed and are as follows:

Saturday evening, 5pm in English and 7pm in Spanish.
Sunday morning 8:30 and 10:30 in English and 12:30 in Spanish.
